PPL

Private Pilot License 

This license is the first step towards a flying career. In this program, students learn preliminary and fundamental aviation techniques in both theory and practice. In addition to actual flight training,  the theoretical subjects are as follows:

  • General Knowledge
  • Air Law
  • Meteology
  • Navigation

Students take theory classes and practice several flights with instructors until they are ready to complete their first solo flight. The first solo flight is an unforgettable experience for every pilot. After the first solo, students will practice both solo and dual flights while continuing their classroom training. They will develop their flying skills and experience various emergency situations.

 

Minimum Training Hours:

45 hours flight and 40 hours of Ground School

Note: Usually it takes 65 hours flight and 80 hours of Ground School

 

Tests:

  •   Operational
  •   Type Rating
  •   Radio Communication
  •   PSTAR
  •   Preparation tests for Transport Canada Written Test
  •   Final Transport Canada Written Test 

 

Practical Tests: 

  • Pre Flight Tests:  There are two pre flight tests that are administered by school instructors in order to prepare students for final Transport Canada Test.
  • Final Flight Test: A Transport Canada examiner administers Final flight test.

At the conclusion of this program, students are capable of performing safe and reliable flights and will have completed the pre-requisite training that will enable them to continue their training at the Commercial level.  The Commercial licence is the minimum required to be able to be paid to fly.

 

Advantages of PPL License:

  • PPL holders are able to fly during day and in good weather conditions
  • PPL holders can carry passengers if the flight does not generate revenue
  • PPL holders can improve their flying skills and increase their flying experience. All of the flight hours are legally accumulated
  • The PPL license is the prerequisite for other aviation training programs

PPL license does not have any prerequisite.

PPL license by itself does not have commercial application and cannot be used to generate revenue.
