Multi-Engine

By holding this rating, pilots are able to fly with airplanes with two or more engines.

Theory and practical lessons about airplanes with at least two engines

 

Minimum Training Hours:

There are not any specific required training hours, however students should prepare themselves for at least twelve hours of flight in order to master the skills necessary to pass the Multi-Engine flight test.

Practical Tests:

  • Pre Flight Test: There are at least two pre flight tests to prepare students for final Transport Canada Test. The examiners are school instructors.
  • Final Test: The Final Transport Canada Test is conducted by official examiners for Transport Canada.

Advantages of Multi-Engine License:

  • Capable of flying a greater range of aircraft
  • Flying with greater speed and safety afforded by additional engine
  • More opportunity to work as a pilot, as most charter and airline operators used multi-engined aircraft exclusively

Further Information:

  • PPL is the prerequisite license for the multi-engine program
  • If the health certificate of the student has not expired there is no need for new medical exam (Category one or three medical certificate is required)
  • This course does not require a Transport Canada written examination.
  • All the flights hours of Multi-engine course can be included in total 200 hours of flight required for CPL
